AMERICAN VENOUS FORUM FOUNDATION
BSN-JOBST INC. RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN VENOUS AND LYMPHATIC DISEASE
The American Venous Forum Foundation is pleased to announce the 16th Annual BSN-Jobst Inc. Research Fellowship In Venous and Lymphatic Disease.
The BSN-Jobst Inc. Research Fellowship will provide a one-year, $25,000 research grant chosen through a competitive peer review selection process. A committee of distinguished vascular physicians/surgeons, appointed by the American Venous Forum Foundation, will review the submitted proposals and select the finalists, who will then be interviewed prior to the final selection. The competition is open to residents, fellows in a vascular training program as well as physicians who have completed their training within the past five (5) years. Proposed projects must represent original, basic or clinical research in venous or lymphatic disease. The outcome of the research must be documented in manuscript form intended for peer review by the Journal of Vascular Surgery (or an Index-Medicus recognized, peer-reviewed journal of their choosing) after presentation at the Annual Meeting of the American Venous Forum.
TO APPLY: Candidates must prepare a 5-10 page, double-spaced, typewritten summary of the proposed research project. The summary must include the objectives of the research and the methodology to be employed in the study. The sponsor of the project must be a member of AVF and he/she is required to submit a letter of support and verification of resources available to support the project. In addition, the candidate must submit their curriculum vitae. The research summary must be received (by mail or electronically) no later than Wednesday, September 16, 2009:

Personal interviews with the finalists will be conducted by the BSN-Jobst Inc. Research Committee either in person or by teleconverence. Finalists will be notified as to the interview process on or about October (2009).
The Fellowship will commence on January 1, 2010 and the announcement of the winner will be made during the 2008 Award Ceremony during the Forum Finale and Award Ceremony during the Annual Meeting of the AVF, February 10-13, 2010 in Amelia Island, Florida.
The following year, the winner is expected to attend the AVF 23rd Annual Meeting and present highlights of his or her research experience to meeting attendees.
