Medical Professionals

The AVF continues its mission to educate residents and fellows in venous and lymphatic disease and announces the 2010 program:

Fellows Course in Venous Disease
The Fellows Course in Venous Diseases 2010 is now under the direction of Steve Elias, MD FACS FACPh and the American Venous Forum. The partnership creates a unified academic source for Fellows’ education in venous disease, the high quality interactive programming and low faculty attendee ratio will remain the same. The schedule has been expanded to three regional courses to better accommodate all fellows:

• May 2-4, 2010 at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, Englewood, NJ
• September 12-14, 2010 at University Washington, Seattle, WA
• December 2-4, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, OH

Journal of Vascular Surgery - Supplement
Proceedings from the 5th Pacific Vascular Symposium “Mapping the Future of Venous Disease” has now been published in its entirety as a full supplement to the Journal of Vascular Surgery (December, 2007 Edition).

The Supplement includes 6 chapters over one hundred and fifty (150) pages in length, and contains:

• Introduction and Overview “Mapping the Future of Venous Disease”"
• Acute Venous Disease: Venous Thrombosis & Venous Trauma
• Primary Chronic Venous Disease
• Secondary Chronic Venous Disease
• The Hemodynamics and Diagnosis of Venous Disease
• The Future of Venous Disease

We strongly believe that this is a landmark publication, and in our opinion, the venous equivalent of the ACCP Chest supplement and TASC document. We also expect that the educational benefits of the Supplement will be long-term.
