If you are a resident or fellow in a vascular training program, consider applying for one or more of these awards:

BSN-Jobst, Inc. Research Fellowship
The BSN-Jobst, Inc. Research Fellowship is a one year, $50,000 research grant chosen through a competitive peer review selection process. The competition is open to residents and fellows in a vascular training program, as well as physicians who have completed their training within the past five years. Proposed projects must represent original, basic or clinical research in venous or lymphatic disease. The research summary for this award must be received no later than Tuesday, September 14, 2010.

To Apply:
Candidates must prepare a 5-10 page, double-spaced, typewritten summary of the proposed research project. The summary must include the objectives of the research and the methodology to be employed in the study. The sponsor of the project must be a member of the AVF and he/she is required to submit a letter of support and verification of resources available to support the project. In addition, the candidate must submit their curriculum vitae. The research summary must be received no later than Tuesday, September 14, 2010 (venous-info@administrare.com).

Personal interviews with the finalists will be conducted by the BSN-Jobst Inc. Research Committee either in person or by teleconference. Finalists will be notified as to the interview process the beginning of October (2010).

The fellowship will commence on January 1, 2011 and the announcement of the winner will be made during the Forum Finale and award ceremony during the Annual Meeting (February 23-26, 2011) in San Diego, CA. The following year, the winner is expected to attend the AVF 24th Annual Meeting and present highlights of his/her research experience to meeting attendees.

American Venous Forum Servier Traveling Fellowship Award

Servier Traveling Fellowship
The Servier Traveling Fellowship is open to fellows and residents in a vascular training program in the continental United States. Abstracts submitted must represent original, basic or clinical research in venous or lymphatic disease. The Servier Traveling Fellowship will provide two (2) fellows an opportunity to travel to the 23rd Annual Meeting of the AVF (San Diego, CA) and to the European Venous Forum in June 2011 to present their research. The grant for fellow/resident research is chosen through a competitive peer review selection process. To apply for this traveling fellowship, you must submit an abstract for consideration to the American Venous Forum by Tuesday, September 7, 2010.
